Newman Civic Fellows Award

I am honored to be one of five NC Students to receive this incredible award, and one out of 218 students across our nation. Holding this title means that I am not only representing myself, but High Point University. I want to be able to create projects and programs that will allow other students to get involved and engaged in the community of High Point. There is a lot of work that needs to be done not only here, but in our country. As a Newman Civic Fellow, I will be able to connect with other students that are leaders in the community and wish to make a difference like me. We will be able to exchange ideas and help support one another through our new network. I cannot wait to see all of the amazing things we can all accomplish!

AAUW-Greensboro Scholarship Recipient for NCCWSL

I am beyond grateful for the scholarship from AAUW-Greensboro. With this scholarship, I will be able to attend the National Conference of College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL) hosted at the University of Maryland this June. This conference will allow me to attend numbers of workshops to help build my leadership skills and give me great ideas for projects that I can bring back to campus! I cannot wait to represent High Point University and my home-state New Mexico.

Kaplan MCAT Course Scholarship Recipient

I was awarded a course scholarship for Kaplan. I was able to demonstrate to a panel of professors that I am dedicated to the journey of becoming a doctor. I am so happy that I was able to convey my passion for medicine to a number of professors who I haven’t had courses with. It means a lot to me that I was chosen because otherwise, I would not have been able to afford the MCAT course that only helps me get to where I am going.
